uMngeni Municipality in partnership with the Department of Economic Development Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) in KwaZulu-Natal is rolling out the Municipal Employment Initiative (MEI) programme which is aimed at supporting and enabling the growth of uMngeni SMME’s & Cooperatives with funding.
The Municipality is devoted to supporting local small businesses in addressing market failures as well as human and institutional capacity limitations that act to exclude municipal residents from the mainstream economy and perpetuate unemployment and poverty.
